Elyse Berlin is a Duval native, singer/songwriter actively rooted in the Jacksonville music scene. While she clearly has influences in that of the Mississippi Blues, her Americana melodies are a representation of her upbringing. Her parents, who are also Florida natives, played a major role in the foundation of her vocal style. Artists such as Jackson Browne, Sam Cook, Fats Waller and Southern style rock in general, were frequently played while doing household chores with her younger sister. Elyse has really been able to polish her vocal style by making frequent trips to Arkansas, Mississippi and Memphis - working with various artists on her up and coming album “City of Milk and Honey”. Though Berlin attributes her newly found music career to self expression, even more so, she credits the musicians she is currently working alongside, who each are bringing something special to the stage. Behind the scenes, her driving force is using music to better her mental health, in hopes that it will inspire others to take on more outlets of their own. She is incredibly excited for the upcoming "Sad Girl" projects featuring strong female artists that reside in this immense city.
